At Retro, you’ll find the most stylish pieces in town – and the webshop needed to reflect that. Together with HK Link and HK Reklamebyrå, we began by exploring and refining the brand as a whole to ensure the digital experience reflected its identity and vision.
Early in the process, we evaluated performance, usability issues, and content structure to identify key opportunities for improvement. Insights from analytics and user feedback helped define clear priorities and success criteria for the new webshop. Visual identity, communication, and user experience were developed in parallel to ensure a cohesive and consistent result across all touchpoints. Particular emphasis was placed on hierarchy, typography, and product presentation, allowing the products to stand out while reinforcing Retro’s distinctive personality.
Throughout the project, we conducted continuous user testing and iterative design cycles. Wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts were validated with real users, and findings were used to refine navigation, filtering, and the overall shopping flow. This iterative approach ensured that design decisions were both user-centered and commercially effective.
A key part of the process was translating the in-store brand experience into a digital context. We worked extensively to define a visual style and tone of voice that felt authentic to Retro and aligned with the strong impression already established by the physical stores. The final solution balances inspiration and usability, delivering a confident webshop that supports both brand perception and conversion.
